Back in the day there was the Dukes of Hazzard show. Now they made a move out of it. Using characters that are supposed to resemble the older version, they bring to life the epic show about the Duke boys always getting blamed for Boss Hogg's get-rich-by-scamming schemes. This movie brings back the legendary General Lee, the orange car with the 01 painted on the side and the rebel flag on the roof of the car. It also brings back the goofy Rosco P. Coltrane, but in this movie they made him a lot more serious and mean. 
This movie starts out with the Duke boys wrecking the General Lee into some construction equipment. They don't understand what all the equipment is for, so they decide to investigate. Going through many different adventures, they finally find some core samples of dirt. Their faithful friend Cooter has been fixing their car for them in the mean time of all this and he fixes it up real nice and that is supposedly when he put the horn in that makes the noise that just about anyone recognizes. They go to Atlanta to see what the core samples are for and find that Boss Hogg is planning on strip mining Hazzard. When they finally realize that, they try to hurry back to save hazzard, but end up in jail. When they finally find a way to break out (with a little help from Daisy's short shorts), it's a race back to Hazzard. Of course in the end they make it and save the county and are considered heroes.
I liked this movie, but yet I didn't. I think they did a bad job at making the new characters like the old ones. The old show is a lot funnier and more exciting. I don't like how they made the Duke boys to disrespectful and the say soooo many curse words in the movie. I just think they did a bad job at matching the old with the new. I did like Jessica Simpson as Daisy and I liked who played the Duke boys. They just needed to make it a little more like the old version.

Overall I too enjoyed this movie, but like you I probably would've changed a few things. Fun to watch, though!
This was a great movie. I thought they did a decent job, but I do agree it was a little bit to modernized. They have a lot of things that are in there, that are considered okay now, but were disrespectful then.
I agree mostly though i must say that im not complaining about who played Daisy. Ive been watching the old ones more often now and i agree that they messed up with rosco and espically boss(he wasnt even fat).-glenn
